Messiah Messenger – October 2015

“Animals are footprints of God.” – Martin Luther

Some say that pets put their paw prints on our hearts. Others are moved to awe as they look upon the colors of fall. As Martin Luther reminds us, that love and wonder we feel as we ponder God’s creation is of God.

And so, Messiah celebrates God’s continuing creation through our annual fall arts & craft fair, bake & BBQ sale, family fun fair and pet blessing – CreationFest – on Saturday, October 3rd, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. The pet blessing is at 12:30 pm. Please join us and invite your friends, neighbors and everyone you meet. Pets of all kinds are welcome, but please properly restrain or control them for their safety and the safety of others.

October is also a time we reflect upon “all things Luther,” as we celebrate the 498th anniversary of the posting of his 95 Theses and the start of the Reformation. On Sunday, October 25th, we’ll have a special celebratory service (10:45 am) which will include the confirmation of two of our youth. We’ll conclude our day with an OktoberFest inspired potluck.

On Reformation Day (Saturday, October 31st), we’ll put hammer and nail to work to help our friends at Hanover Habitat for Humanity celebrate 25 years building hope in Hanover. Find the sign-up list on our welcome table or contact our office to participate.

There is much more going on, so be sure to check out our October newsletter: Messenger – October 2015
