Messiah Messenger – November 2016

Calling all saints! (That means you!) Join us in November for many wonderful celebrations, to serve our neighbor, and to give thanks to our God.

Next Sunday, All Saints Sunday (11/6), bring a long stem flower to help commemorate those saints who touched your life with love and nurtured faith in you. We will give thanks for being one through faith, part of the catholic (universal) church of Christ! Worship with us at 10:45 am.

Miss the historic ecumenical commemoration of the Reformation in Sweden? You can watch the historic prayer service and signing of the joint statement by Pope Francis and Lutheran World Federation President, Bishop Dr Munib A. Younan, here: The text of the document may be read here:

Our Christ the King Sunday/Thanksgiving Luncheon is always popular. Our fellowship team provides the turkey, you are invited to bring a side, salad or dessert as you are able. It will immediately follow our Sunday worship on November 20th. Later that week, our annual ecumenical community Thanksgiving Service will be hosted by New Hanover Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, November 22, at 7:00 pm. Pastor Lou will be preaching. Participating congregations: All Souls Episcopal, Messiah Lutheran, New Hanover Presbyterian, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Shady Grove United Methodist.
