Our prayers at the Lord’s Supper often includes these words: “It is indeed right and salutary that we should at all times and in all places offer thanks and praise to you, O Lord, holy Father, through Christ our Lord.” This seems indeed so this time of year, when our nation is traditionally asked to pause and consider the many gifts God has given us.
Reflecting the biblical values that guide us, Messiah will be helping MCEF feed our neighbors. We will prepare to welcome orphans and foster children during the holiday season. We will serve widows and the sick while seeking to better love all those entrusted to our care. Through loving service, we seek to give thanks and bless others as we try to do all year long.
With grateful hearts, we will also welcome one another and all interested guests for our annual Thanksgiving luncheon after our 10:45 am Sunday worship on November 19, 2017. (Special guests, the youth bell choir from Morning Star Lutheran, Matthews, NC, will share their musical gifts with us!) We will join our greater community in giving thanks during an ecumenical worship on Tuesday, November 21, at 7:00 pm. (This year, it is hosted by Messiah Lutheran, and the pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will preach.)
We invite you to join us in worship, fellowship and service and make Messiah your church home!
