The word “Lent” comes from the old English, “lencten,” which means “spring.” Along with the growing daylight, the people of God hoped to experience a growing faith – a kind of springtime – through their Lenten disciplines and worship. Lent begins earlier this year with Ash Wednesday falling on February 14, 2018. Our service with Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes will be at 7:00 pm.
